A Call To Action and To Pledge

On this eve of the United States' inauguration of the first African-American to hold the highest office in the free world (and on the Martin Luther King Holiday) - the President of the United States, HipHopTV247.org would like to call our readers and supporters to action and to pledge their time, energy, resources and movement to improve their lives and to improve the lives of our fellow Americans and of the world.

At 12pm noon tomorrow, President-elect Barack Obama will lay his hand on the same bible that President Abraham Lincoln used when he pledged his oath to protect and serve our country as President of the United States. Under the spotlight of the excitement in which America is buzzing, we have to keep faith and hope that the best years of our country are to come. All of us have to do our part to ensure the progression of our great nation through however we may serve.
The world is in the midst of dizzying social and political changes, technological advances and economic and environmental instability. We, in America, can take the lead for inspiration to bring back the swagger we lost as a nation over the past few years. At times we are called to action and to serve others by force, by law, by our families, and by ego. We are a witness to a great power change in history and we must not shirk our calling for change. Franklin D. Roosevelt said during his inauguration speech in the teeth of the 20th century Depression that "...the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Lets us not fear the change we can bring and we must not fear our personal power.

"Not everyone can be famous but everyone can be great because everyone can be great by service" (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) - We are celebrating the promise and action of the represenation of our new President. We must not lose dilligence in how we worked to help our new president get to office - its about using our swerve to improve our lives and our communities. Better communities through service makes a better nation. At HipHop247.org, we want to inspire everyone in America and around the world to serve with a purpose that is greater than ourselves. HipHopTV247.org's mission is to promote service to community and country is what is hot now.

Hip Hop artists Young Jeezy and Nas proclaim now that "My President Is Black" but the call to action and to pledge to sacrifice and work dilligently to uphold the ideals of the principles of what America has come to stand for will come from all of us. Yes, our leader, our President is a Black man but the person who will take the lead for change is whomever we see in the mirror. . .

"Stuntin On Martin Luther cause i'm feelin' just like a King,
Guess this is what he meant when he said he had a dream . . ." Young Jeezy
